Wanderer
2007

I am a wanderer of the world
I offer you my so transitional hand
I stride and go and stride and go
eyes meet across crowded rooms
and I am gone.

I am a child of this blue world
a world with wonders more than I will see
my mind, like yours, translucent, cold
we do not understand what once
will set us free.

I am the lonely soul, above it all
and yet not more than any one of you
I only face myself, when the bell tolls
and the bell will always toll for me alone,
here in my mind, not you.

I am a wanderer of the world
deluded into believing meaning into things
I speak of things that matter least of all
the eyelash drops, time winks, delusion
deeper sinks.

I'll be a wanderer of this world
from arching skies to mountains deep
I'll try to find a place to rest my head
to stay, to toil, to do some good, and then
at journey's end, to sleep.
